Shirahama Shrine Festival

This is the annual festival of Shirahama Shrine, the oldest shrine in Izu. The seven bonfires (Hidatsusai) lit for the gods of the seven islands of Izu and the floating of the sacred staffs provide a fantastic mood for the festival.

Tatado Beach

Only a 1-minute walk from Shimoda Yamatokan. Tatado Beach is located just a stone's throw from the ryokan. The beach is rather small, at 450 meters wide and 70 meters deep, but boasts an astonishing transparency and white sand with a water quality test of AA.
